White Buffalo- Year of the Dark Horse
The White Buffalo, led by singer-songwriter Jake Smith, took a bold creative direction for their eighth studio album, “Year Of The Dark Horse.” Departing from their previous styles, Smith sought to create a genre-blending album influenced by diverse artists such as ELO, Tom Waits, and Bruce Springsteen. The album was recorded in an immersive, unconventional manner under the guidance of producer Jay Joyce, resulting in a collection of 12 songs that encompass shifting seasons, relationships, and emotional experiences. The album showcases Jake Smith’s songwriting range and introduces fresh elements, all while maintaining The White Buffalo’s emotional weight and distinctiveness.
